What's new: describe your trip, browse guides by country, and a smarter wishlist
Today was a busy day at TripBooster. We shipped a set of features that make it quicker to start a trip, easier to find inspiration, and clearer to see where you're staying. Here's what's new.
Start a trip by just describing it
The New trip dialog used to be a seven-field form. Now it starts with one question: Where are you going?
- Say it, paste it, or type it. "Lisbon with Anna, May 12 to 19, staying in Alfama" is enough. Hit Fill trip and we prefill the form for you. Everything stays editable.
- Paste a booking email. If your text contains bookings, you'll see Also import N bookings. Leave it checked and the reservations are imported into the new trip right after it's created.
- Voice input. Tap the mic and talk for up to a minute. If transcription has a hiccup, we fall back to your browser's built-in speech recognition so you're never stuck.
- Matching guides. Once you've typed a destination, up to three public guides for that city appear. Pick one with Use guide to start with a ready-made plan.
Prefer the old way? Enter details manually takes you straight to the classic form.
Explore guides by country and city
Explore → Trip guides used to be one long scroll. Now you can browse by country: each country shows how many guides it has and its top cities. Choose a country, then a city, and the list narrows to guides for that place. Your filter is kept in the link, so you can reload or share it, and search works inside the filter too.
To keep the page tidy, the country overview starts collapsed. Open it when you want it.
Ratings and reviews
Signed-in travelers can now rate and review guides, places and cities. Tell others what was worth it and what wasn't, and use their notes when you plan.
Cleaner city guides
We went through our official city guides and removed the filler. Many 14-day plans were padded with "Free day" entries. Those plans are now trimmed to the days that actually have something planned, or replaced by the shorter 1, 3, 5 and 7-day versions. The 14-day guides that remain are full ones. If you write your own guide, we'll now point out any days that have nothing planned.
A wishlist that feels like a travel board
Your Wishes got a big upgrade:
- Photo cards. Every wish shows a cover photo, its flag, a preview of your notes, and badges like "Trip planned · Apr 2027" or "2 past trips".
- A page for every destination. Click a wish to see a hero image, notes that save automatically, your upcoming and past trips there, and public guides for the place.
- Plan a trip in one click. New Trip opens with the destination already filled in.
- Save guides to your wishlist. On any guide page, hit Save to wishlist. We attach it to the right wish, for example a Kyoto guide goes on your Kyoto wish, or on Japan if that's what you have. If you don't have a wish for the place yet, we create one. Saved guides show first on the wish page, followed by suggestions.
And yes, we're careful with names: a wish for Paris, France won't match your trip to Paris, Texas.
Lodging, at a glance
- Color-coded stays. On your timeline, Booking.com, Airbnb and TrustedHousesitters stays each get their own color, so you can tell at a glance where you're sleeping and how you booked it.
- House sits. House-sitting stays are now supported as lodging in their own right.
- Hotels added by assistants show up. If an AI assistant adds a hotel to your trip through TripBooster's MCP connection, it now appears in the Lodging card on your trip overview, and stays in sync when it's changed or removed.
Better on iPhone and Android
We fixed several issues in the mobile apps:
- Saving lodging, the AI planner, place search, weather, invites and guide actions could show an error even though the change had been saved. They now respond correctly.
- On iOS, the Wishes tab could appear empty and official TripBooster guides could fail to load. Both are fixed, and there's now a Planning tab for wishes.
- Trip maps with imported bookings, and trip invites, load properly again.
What's next
More wishlist work is on the way, along with more city guides. As always, if something feels off or you have an idea, send us feedback from inside the app. We read every note.
Happy travels!
